CAN DO Inc. recently appointed Nico Makuta as Corporate Finance Specialist.
In his role, Makuta will manage the planning, procurement and administration of project-based grants and loans for the organization; help community businesses identify and secure funding opportunities; act as a liaison with employers through outreach to ensure Greater Hazleton’s continued economic development efforts; and coordinate with CAN BE to help small businesses and start-ups with financing options and growth opportunities.
“Nico will be a great asset to our CAN DO team. Her enthusiasm for the community and her interest in the organization’s mission stood out during our first interview. This passion for making a difference, along with Nico’s experience working directly with people and managing their needs, will play a vital role in CAN DO’s ongoing efforts to help businesses secure the financing they need to create or maintain family-supporting jobs in Greater Hazleton,” said Joseph Lettiere, President and CEO of CAN DO.
“This field has given me countless opportunities over the years and having the opportunity to work in a field that helps provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses is very humbling. I am proud to be part of an organization such as CAN DO, where I can contribute to the process of improving the economic vitality of the Greater Hazleton area,” said Makuta.
Makuta graduated from the University of East Stroudsburg in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies.
