Driver transporting bodies to morgue stole deceased’s credit cards, police say

A Middlesex County man transporting bodies to the morgue stole credit cards he found on them, officials said.

According to a press release from Milltown Police Department and the Middlesex County Attorney’s Office.

Following an investigation by agencies, Thomas was arrested at his home on Tuesday and taken to Middlesex County Jail, police said.

Thomas was charged with third and fourth degree credit card theft, identity theft, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and three counts of possession of a credit card without consent, the office said. .

The incidents remained under investigation and anyone with information was asked to call Milltown Police Sgt. William Fama at 732-828-2100, ext. 133, and Det. Marcus Goode of the Middlesex County Attorney’s Office at 732-745-4274.
